Happy Second Anniversary to Jennifer & Chance Smith!
Happy 1st Anniversary Ben & Kelly!
Happy 1st Anniversary to Kelly and Ben Comeau!
So many great memories from this ‘destination’ wedding at the Hilton Bella Harbor in Rockwall. This wedding had the honor of having the most states represented from any wedding I had in 2012.
This ended up being one of my favorite photos (and moments) for 2012. @Fairy Tale Photography
I hope you two make some time to sneak in a dance in the living room to Band of Horses ‘No One’s Gonna Love You.’
Special thanks to Laura Parker at Fairy Tale Photography for sharing these photos.

Southlake Wedding Reception at Paradise Cove
Monday was Jennifer and Chance’s first anniversary. I realized that the photos from their wedding needed to be added back to the new blog. The ceremony and reception were both held at Paradise Cove on Lake Grapevine in early spring. Special thanks to Laura Parker at Fairy Tale Photography for sharing the photos.
Their colors were green and white.
The ceremony space is right on the lake, so the path is a descant walk. The ring bearer and flower girl made it all the way perfectly (and looked cute doing it).
The first kiss!
We planned the timing of this wedding to be sure Laura would have time to get plenty of sunset on the lake shots.
Sometimes the wedding party goes rogue.
Pictures like this make me so glad we took the time to properly stage the toasts.
First Dance
Jennifer spent most of the night on the dance floor.
Enjoying a late night slow dance.
Laura likes to take her couples to do a quick shoot somewhere between the reception location and the hotel. The extra effort really shows when she has shots like this to put in the album.
Happy Anniversary to Jennifer & Chance
Happy First Anniversary to Jennifer and Chance Smith! The celebrated their wedding and reception at Paradise Cove in Southlake. The weather was perfect and we had a great team of vendors. Special thanks to Laura Parker of Fairy Tale Photography for sharing these photos.
Ben & Kelly Get Married at Perkins Chapel
Last week, I showcased some sneak peaks from Ben & Kelly’s incredible reception at the Hilton Bella Harbor. Reception photos here.
While I did not assist with the ceremony audio & visual on this wedding, I loved the photos from Laura at Fairy Tale Photography and wanted to share them.
It was so perfect that the SMU landscaping crew planted tulips that matched Kelly’s colors perfectly.
There was a light spring shower throughout the day.
Kelly looked stunning in her dress.
I love the pride in Kevin’s face.
Now I have to find out what was so funny! (feel free to comment Laura)
A kiss to give his daughter away.
These two were all smiles all weekend. Also, if you need an officiant Marty Younkin with Love Notes (and his team) are the best in DFW. You will see Marty on almost every ceremony referral list in town for a reason.
Gorgeous shot of Perkins Chapel.
The newly pronounced Mr. & Mrs. Ben Comeau
The advantage of a team of shooters is one photographer captures a great shots while you are looking at the other photographer.
Hilton Bella Harbor Reception
I knew from the first meeting that Kelly and Ben’s wedding was going to be memorable. The familes considered it a destination wedding because Dallas was only home to Kelly’s parents and a very small percentage of the guests. Ben’s family was all over New England, his Marine buddies were all over the country, and Ben and Kelly had already spent time in Denver and Nashville. The states were too numerous to list at the rehearsal dinner.
The Hilton Bella Harbor in Rockwall hosted this fun group who had never met a stranger in their lives. The facility is incredible. It is lakefront property so it has a fabulous view and is surrounded by shopping and entertainment, which allowed all of the out of towners to get by without a rental car.
My team added some champagne uplighting to bring the room to life.
The lovebirds sitting atop the cake.
Kelly’s family always cooks up surprises at family weddings. For Kelly & Ben’s wedding, the surprise was for all of the guests to put on a clown nose (see photo #2) when we closed the doors for their introduction. This was Kelly’s reaction as she walked into the room and saw 140 friends and family in clown noses.
A rehearsed first dance that looked elegant but fun. I loved how the family, Hilton staff, and Hannah from DFW Events worked to incorporate furniture around the dance floor to create lounge space around the dance floor, and it worked out perfectly for the wedding party to sit and enjoy the first dance.
Ben is very focused on cutting the cake. Kelly is a little more relaxed.
Check out the details on the champagne flutes.
Then it was time to party!
The Hilton Bella Harbor was kind enough to let us do a flutterfetti dance INSIDE of the ballroom. This is something that can be added to weddings with the blessing of your catering manager (just don’t be surprised if there is a small charge for cleaning it up).
Kevin (Kelly’s dad) is flanked by Rob (Ben’s dad) and Ben. Ben is wearing the Stetson hat that Kevin gave to Rob at the rehearsal dinner to welcome him to Texas.
The evening was capped by a sparkler send off (and then everyone headed to the hotel bar).
Special thanks to Laura Parker at Fairy Tale Photography for sharing these sneaks so quickly after the wedding. I cannot wait to post more in a few weeks.
