Amber Uplighting

Amber uplighting encompasses many shades of warm lighting. Some people refer to the color as champagne. It is not just a color for fall themed weddings. Amber based uplighting provides a very warm feel to your event and goes with many color themes. Photographers love this color pallet and it has less effect for making the room glow.

Happy 1st Anniversary to Chad & Tara

Chad and Tara rang in the New Year by getting married!  It was a wonderful way to celebrate.  Their friends and family partied well into 2012 and helped me start this wonderful year off right.  So…Happy First Anniversary Mr. & Mrs Davis!  I hope life in Singapore is treating you well.

Here is a highlight of the pictures from their beautiful ceremony and reception at the Joule Hotel in downtown Dallas.  Photos are courtesy of Chris at Ivey Photography.  To see more pictures from this wedding check out the Ivey Photography blog and also check out the post of Tara’s bridals.

Notice the uplights are subtle but add a definite splash of color.

There was a ton of energy downtown already because of NYE.

Chad’s best friend and co-best man, David, sang a first dance that he and Chad had written together. Talk about having everyone’s undivided attention to each word.

I am glad Chris captured this photo because there are not words to describe the emotions and love that go with your new husband writing a song for you.

The parent dances were a little emotional because Chad and Tara moved to Singapore right after the wedding for Chad’s job.

The Texas Tech Betas in attendance made sure that Chad experienced passing the ‘loving cup’ even if they had to improvise with a bottle of champagne.

City Club Fort Worth Wedding – Kirsten & Ryan

Kirsten and Ryan celebrated their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Fort Worth City Club.  My team and I had the privilege of working with an all star team of vendors.  Tami Winn and her planning team and floral team made the room beautiful and the night flow so smoothly.  Tracy Autem and her photography team were having fun while capturing the memories for Mr. & Mrs. Hood.  Last but not least, Daniel Troupe with Lynn Films was capturing the video to document all of the fun that was being had throughout the City Club.  Special thanks to Daniel for sharing this preview video.

I cannot wait to do a follow up post with Tracy’s photos and the extended cut of Daniel’s film.

Hilton Bella Harbor Reception

I knew from the first meeting that Kelly and Ben’s wedding was going to be memorable.  The familes considered it a destination wedding because Dallas was only home to Kelly’s parents and a very small percentage of the guests.  Ben’s family was all over New England, his Marine buddies were all over the country, and Ben and Kelly had already spent time in Denver and Nashville.  The states were too numerous to list at the rehearsal dinner.

The Hilton Bella Harbor in Rockwall hosted this fun group who had never met a stranger in their lives.  The facility is incredible.  It is lakefront property so it has a fabulous view and is surrounded by shopping and entertainment, which allowed all of the out of towners to get by without a rental car.

Hilton Bella Harbor Amber Uplighting

My team added some champagne uplighting to bring the room to life.

Kelly’s family always cooks up surprises at family weddings.  For Kelly & Ben’s wedding, the surprise was for all of the guests to put on a clown nose (see photo #2) when we closed the doors for their introduction.  This was Kelly’s reaction as she walked into the room and saw 140 friends and family in clown noses.

Hilton Bella Harbor Wedding Reception Introductions

A rehearsed first dance that looked elegant but fun.  I loved how the family, Hilton staff, and Hannah from DFW Events worked to incorporate furniture around the dance floor to create lounge space around the dance floor, and it worked out perfectly for the wedding party to sit and enjoy the first dance.

Ben is very focused on cutting the cake.  Kelly is a little more relaxed.

Hilton Bella Harbor Wedding Cotton Eyed Joe

The Hilton Bella Harbor was kind enough to let us do a flutterfetti dance INSIDE of the ballroom.  This is something that can be added to weddings with the blessing of your catering manager (just don’t be surprised if there is a small charge for cleaning it up).

The evening was capped by a sparkler send off (and then everyone headed to the hotel bar).

Special thanks to Laura Parker at Fairy Tale Photography for sharing these sneaks so quickly after the wedding.  I cannot wait to post more in a few weeks.

Joule Hotel Wedding Ceremony

Chad and Tara were married on New Years Eve at the art gallery connected to the Joule Hotel in downtown Dallas.  For her ceremony, we provided completely hidden sound and some well placed lighting to make the space really pop.  For ceremonies, it is amazing what just a couple of well placed uplights will add for the photographer, videographer, and guests.

Here are a few images from Chris at Ivey Photography.  Chris and his team were so inconspicuous in a space that is not small, but was packed with friends and family who were there to celebrate.  To see more photos from this wedding check out the Ivey Photography blog or if you want to see Tara’s bridals check out this post.

Crescent Club Ballroom Reception – November 5th

I had the privilege of providing entertainment and uplighting for Allie and Richard’s wedding reception at the Rosewood Crescent Club Ballroom.  Hannah from DFW Events worked with Allie and her mother Tilly to put together an unforgettable night.  Special thanks to Michelle Peyronet from Peyronet Photography for sharing these amazing pictures.

Union Station Wedding Reception Video

We had the privilege of working with Perez Photography and Candlelight Films on Lindsay and Jacob’s wedding at Union Station.  Candlelight put together this highlight film from the night.
