Moab Utah – Arches National Park

I’ve been debating posting about my travels.  Finally, I saw a YouTube video that left me saying “why not!”  Jen and I love to travel and make wonderful memories together.

In April of 2011, we took advantage of no weddings on Easter weekend and did a tour of the Grand Circle.  What is the Grand Circle?  Great question!  You fly into Vegas (bonus) and get a rent car.  You drive northeast through southern Utah seeing 5+ National Parks (Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands).  After Utah, you head south to the Grand Canyon and then complete the circle going back west to Vegas.

It is such a beautiful part of our country.  For as close as the 6 parks are to one another, they are all very unique.  This is not a trip for you if you do not enjoy hiking, nature, or having no 3G cell signal for HUNDREDS of miles.

While we were not quite as adventuresome as these film makers, we were able to see some of these amazing arches in Moab, Utah.  If you are ever considering visiting this area, definitely email me and I will give you some great places to check out.

Here is a picture of me at Arches stressing Jen out.  I climbed atop a very small arch (my opinion).  It ended up making for a great photo even if Jen is screaming “1…2…3…okay get down!”

Wish Upon A Wedding at TPC Craig Ranch

I had the privilege of working with the Wish Upon A Wedding Foundation. Wish Upon a Wedding is a nonprofit organization that provides weddings and vow renewals to couples facing terminal illness and serious life altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation.

Tiffany and Mark had only been dating about 4 months when she became very ill and was diagnosed with islet cell hyperplasia.  Over the past two years, Tiffany and Mark (and their combined 6 children) have had to go through a lot, but as you can see from the wonderful film Dulock Productions shared below the family is stronger and happy to have each moment together.  To learn more about Tiffany & Mark’s story, check out their love story.

Wish Upon A Wedding

I had the privilege to work with Mark and Tiffany on their wedding.  While every wedding is special, this one meant a little more to everyone involved.

In 2009 Tiffany met Mark and felt like a school girl again. That same night she wrote a poem, “That time, that moment, when you kiss someone and everything around you becomes hazy, and the only thing in focus is you and this person. And you realize that this person is the only person that you are supposed to kiss for the rest of your life, and for one moment, you get this amazing gift, and you want to laugh, and you want to cry because you feel so lucky that you found it, and so scared that it will go away all at the same time.”

Four short months later she was diagnosed with islet cell hyperplasia. The past 2 years Tiffany has battled for her life. Mark has stood by her side with unwavering love. This is their story.  Special thanks to Dulock Productions for sharing such an amazing testimony of love.

I am so honored that Wish Upon A Wedding asked me to be part of something so special.  I cannot wait to share the reception video with all of you tomorrow.

Rosewood Crescent Hotel Wedding Reception Video

Yesterday I posted photos from Courtney and Jacob’s reception.  If you missed them, be sure to check out that post.  In today’s post I have the privilege to share the highlight video that BJ Roman, at Roman Video Productions, put together to commemorate the day.  Sweet Pea Events planned this event with Courtney to perfection.

Crescent Hotel Wedding Reception

I cannot believe it has been a year since we were celebrating this wedding at the Crescent Hotel.  We got to work with so many great vendors on this wedding.  Kelly and Meaghan at Sweet Pea Events handled all of the planning.  Di Fiori had phenominal floral designs.  Roman Video Productions documented the whole thing on film.  Glenn Roush provided entertainment and lighting.  Averi Blackmon Photography graciously provided the photos showcased below.

Courtney and Jacob had a choreographed first dance.

Jacob’s cake was an Ironman logo (the race not Robert Downey Jr. character), because Jacob is an avid runner and has competed in Ironman competitions.
In fact, he ran a 5k the morning of his wedding.

The chefs at the Crescent put together this lovely cake.

This is a perfect example of why I am so particular about toasting. You can have a picture with the bride, groom, and person giving a toast (bestman in this photo) perfectly framed. The guests can see the couple, but the toaster can look at the bride & groom to eliminate the nerves of facing the crowd.

All smiles for the father-daughter dance.

I love both of the smiles on their faces. The toss portion of the reception does not have to be cheesy to be fun!

Courtney and her family had prepared me that their guests were coming to party.

Jacob did not show any signs of running a 5k that morning. Apparently, that is just a warm up for an Ironman.

Everyone needed to catch their breath.

They finished the night with a private last dance together.

Then it was time for a flower petal send off.

Jen and I love how the classic Rolls and Courtney’s cover up make this photo look like it is from a different era.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Wedding Ceremony

Bryan and Lindsay were married back in September and hopefully I will have more photos and video to share from the reception very soon.  Until I do, here is a sneak preview Chris Watson put together of the wedding ceremony.  If you did not see the ‘Save the Date’ video that Chris shot for Lindsay and Bryan you can find it here.

Piazza in the Village Wedding Reception

Andrew and Kayla had a packed house at the Piazza In The Village for a FUN Thursday night wedding.  I loved this crowd because they didn’t let any work commitments or plans on Friday slow them down.

Thanks to Colleyville Wedding Photographer Erin Kathleen for these wonderful pics.  To see the rest of the album check out her full blog post here.

This is them right after becoming husband and wife (probably my favorite shot).

The wedding party came in full of energy.  Andrew surprised us all by carrying her in at the last second.

Mr. & Mrs. Forney had a choreographed dance to “More than Anyone” by Gavin DeGraw.  Kayla is laughing because Andrew may or may not have missed a step (or three).

The party started early and it started strong.  The groomsmen decided to do a little impromptu “Night at the Roxbury” sandwich.

I wish I had gotten video of this guy breakdancing.  It was legit.

Trinity River Audubon Center Wedding Ceremony

Daniel and Angela were married in October at the Trinity River Audubon Center in Dallas.  The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony.  The wind had been acting up at points during the day, but it died down just in time for the prelude.  Special thanks to Chelsea and Mac McGowan at McGowan Images for sharing these gorgeous photos.
